Enterprise Data is broken. 99% of all enterprise data generated is never used beyond primary use. Businesses, which are not making full use of their data significantly underperform in the marketplace. This is the problem Squirro addresses: Turn this data into actionable insights.

The traditional enterprise data environment is an ever-changing multi-application world where data is stored in multiple data silos (per application) and end-users rapidly lose the ability to deal with information consistently and in the context of their work and work process.

To solve this challenge, the traditional search philosophy (Go to a search box, enter a keyword, search, find, forget about the result) needs to be turned upside down into a world in which the right type of information is delivered with the help of AI models at the right moment in the context of the information worker. With this, we augment the intelligence of humans to make smarter decisions.

We add a second twist: We allow our customers and our community to build their own AI models, abstracting information into new concepts that become tradable on our marketplace. It’s the Spotify’cation of data.

Gartner calls the category ‘Insights Engines’. Forrester calls it the ‘Insights Economy’ and Insights as the ‘New currency of business’. We call this Augmented Intelligence to point to the fact that that we augment humans in doing their jobs better and make smarter decisions, continuously.



The Product Owner is responsible for product planning and product marketing. This includes guiding the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering and delivery, to deliver winning products.

It also includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Owner’s job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.



  • Develop product, roadmap, pricing, and positioning strategies; align the overall product strategy with marketing, sales and the management team
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prioritized features
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product
    gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners; scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding; develop a good understanding of the competition and how Squirro compares
  • Work closely with engineering to deliver on the product roadmap with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Work with marketing and sales to create product collateral and effective go-to-market strategies; evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed; brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings
  • Perform product demos to customers; solicit their feedback on Squirro
  • Act as a leader within the company 


  • Proven work experience in product ownership and product management
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
